School Board Organizes for the New Year Re-elected board members sworn in for another 4 year term

The Boardman School Board held its Organizational Meeting on Wednesday, January 12.   Re-elected in November, John Fryda, Vickie Davis, and John Landers renewed their oath of office to serve another 4 year term. 

As part of the organizational meeting, the board also voted unanimously, naming  John Landers Board President and John Fryda as Board Vice President.

Boardman Local School District joins more than 700 school districts across Ohio to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month!

Serving as a link between the community and classroom, school board members are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for public schools.

The dedicated men and women serving Boardman Local Schools are: Jeff Barone, Victoria Davis, John Fryda, John Landers and Frank Zetts.  

Please take a moment and tell our school board members "thank you" for caring about our children and their future success, and for supporting our community in this way!

Attention Spartans,

Friday, January 28  will be a waiver day in the Boardman Local School District.  Teachers will report for a full day of professional development.

There is no school for students district wide on January 28th.

Superintendent Saxton explains the updated CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines that allow for a faster return to work or school with certain conditions. Boardman Local Schools will follow these guidelines beginning January 5, and until further notice.

The rules for exposure in a school setting have not changed.  At this time, masks continue to be mandatory inside school buildings during the school day and on buses at all times.

BHS Students Create Non-Profit for Student Led Tutoring and Support Superintendent Saxton, Vincent Dong and Austin Ward

Spartan Proud of BHS juniors Vincent Dong and Austin Ward.  They presented to Valley school  superintendents on October 13 at the ESC of Eastern Ohio.  They founded "Cognitia" -- a student lead national non-profit --  to supply free tutoring and educational support to students K-12.
