Glenwood Students Earn Superior and Excellent Ratings at OMEA Competition ohio music education associatin logo

Many of our Boardman Glenwood Junior High School band and orchestra students participated in the Ohio Music Education Association’s annual solo and ensemble competition held at Struthers High School in Struthers, Ohio Saturday, April 9. 

Students prepared and performed solos and small ensembles.  The following students earned the Superior "1" rating and Excellent "2" rating:

PROJECT MAYHEM STADIUM SHOW JUNE 3: GET YOUR TICKETS NOW! NIGHT TIME PHOTO ON STAGE PROJECT MAYHEM

BHS own Rock Orchestra--Project Mayhem--will rock Spartan Stadium on Friday, June 3 at 8 PM.  Tickets are $10 and on sale now at the High School's Main Entrance (security office) during school hours. 

Fans can spread out blankets and sit on the field, or enjoy the two hour show from the stands. This family event will be 60% new music from the indoor Mayhem show in March. Don't Miss it!!

New Lunch Information for the 2022-23 School Year Important lunch information graphic

Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, biometric finger scanners will be used in K-8 buildings to make the lunch line move faster and allow students more time to eat.

We’re excited to tell you about a free program, ENGAGE Ohio, that will provide your student with an extra layer of academic support this school year.

Boardman School Board members revised the Boardman School's Calendar for the 2022-2023 school year at a special board meeting on March 16. CLICK HERE TO SEE NEXT YEAR'S SCHOOL CALENDAR

The first day of school for students will be August 29, 2022, and the final day of classes will be Wednesday, June 7, 2023--Commencement is Sunday, June 4, 2023.

 Parents, please review as you make your plans for next school year.

Mahoning County Commissioners Visit New Outdoor Learning Space Mahoning Commissiners with Mr. Diefenderfer, Mr. Saxton, Principal Smith in outdoor classroom

It takes a village to build an outdoor learning space as equipped as the one Glenwood Junior High students have been using this Fall.  BGJHS science teacher Eric Diefenderfer invited Mahoning County Commissioners and representatives from Sam’s Club to see the outdoor classroom space that their donations helped to build.  

BHS Students Create Non-Profit for Student Led Tutoring and Support Superintendent Saxton, Vincent Dong and Austin Ward

Spartan Proud of BHS juniors Vincent Dong and Austin Ward.  They presented to Valley school  superintendents on October 13 at the ESC of Eastern Ohio.  They founded "Cognitia" -- a student lead national non-profit --  to supply free tutoring and educational support to students K-12.
