The Boardman Local School District has received the Auditor of State Award for the 2017-18 fiscal year. It is the State Auditor’s way of recognizing excellence in financial record keeping as well as sound accounting practices. This is the 4th consecutive “Clean Audit” award for the Boardman Local Schools.
The Ohio auditor presents this award to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. The award is based on a number of factors including filing timely financial reports, and closely following ethics, public meeting and public records criteria.
“It is definitely a district wide team effort to earn a clean audit award, and I appreciate the support my team receives from our Board of Education,” said Treasurer Ciarniello.
"The Auditor of State Award is only presented to districts that have financial records free from significant problems," Auditor Keith Faber said. "Boardman School's clean financial records show their commitment to being responsible with taxpayers' money."
